does anyone know where to get orchid seeds?
60f at night – that’s the UK out unless you leave the central heating on all night!
visit dick and sandy wells at hilltop orchid nursery outside of indianapolis! they’re great people!
am now total confused! i have just been told by an orchid nursary not to soak the orchid and water about every 10-12 days & never wet the leaves? so what do i do???
Nice video, but CAUTION the info here relates only to phals; other types of orchid have quite different requirements!
o_O wow keep and orchids and give me one of her!!
The instructions I got with our Orchid was to prune back down five nodes. Unfortunately the video had nothing about pruning back or winter care.
i love orchids great vid thanks…although not so easy to take care of after all..north east sun spray everyday every other feeding us fertilizer wow. its basically the same care for African violets. I like to soak them in a container of water for a couple mins then drain. I love tropical plans and use to live in Louisiana. m now in tucson and after ample tropical plant casualties I just went with dessert sun loving plants.
He’s got the best job in the world!
when ever you see that the plant need a more room to grow beside after repott you should use physan to prevent the plant getting disease also make sure every tool you’ve used must be clean with alcohol and make sure the plastic pot got a hole so plant need air to try out if the water still trap inside you may got a rott root even lost you’re plant. Good Luck
you need to placed in well-aired and the air need circulation to avoid getting disease or maybe it cause by over-water, only repot once a year not every month.
i NEED help. my orchid plant are dying. it is a dendrobium. i repotting it recently and i placed it with charcoals around it. it grew from another cane and as it grow it fell of it. so i decide to repot. now it’s in a plastic pot surrounded by charcoal. am i doing it correctly?
very good tutorial, I learn a lot from these. Thanks a lot.
look it up?
Hmm, great video but I think you should avoid pouring water on the center of the plant, just pour it around it. Or let it sink in water for 15-30mins. Also you can put it on top of some moist rocks for humidity.
good and informative. i will try out the techniques and watch as my orchids grow. tanx
Thanks so much! -Meghan
good info sweetie! Keep up the good work!
This video is really good advice for those kinds of orchids, but we have to remember that there are many kinds of orchids and some of this information is actually false for the broad classification “orchids”.
thanks for the handy info i will be using it because im an orchid virgin now im a beginer
This vwas a very good tutorial on the care of Phalaenopsis.
This clip is potentially confusing to a new orchid grower. It uses only the general term “orchid” and implies that all orchids can be cared for in this way. That is not correct. The info in this clip is specific to one kind of orchid, a Phalaenopsis and the care instructions given are for Phalaenopsis. Unfortunately they don’t tell you that. Some orchids would die if given the kind of care recommended in the clip.
Love your video, nice personality and an easy to digest format. I have a few questions about my orchid;
You mention to add water soluble fertilizer every other week. What type of water soluble fertilizer should I buy? Brand?
What size pot for a one stalk plant and lastly, when should I re-pot?
Thanks!
love it,,,I’m not even into to orchids, now i feel like giving it a try..lol
Rock on ^^
