@RachelEMacD –The yellow leaves will never turn green again, go ahead and take them off.
You should NOT use clay pots for African violets–You shouldn’t even have them sitting there.

How do you know if you need to repot it?
The leaves on mine are getting yellowy at the bottom of the plant, but still strong. So I don’t know if I should take them off or not. It looked a bit crowded, so I took some off. I let it sit in a 1/4 inch water, once a week. Is that ok? Peace, thanks. Rachel
