Redoing Your Bathroom

The bathroom is an oft-neglected part of the house when it comes to interior décor, whether because it’s a room that simply isn’t used as much as others or homeowners feel they don’t have the time to dedicate to the planning, purchasing and work needed to redecorate yet another room.

However, as a haven for relaxation, the bathroom is a room that can be transformed from a mere utility to a valued area of the house. Many people love to relax in the bath but, if the decoration of the room isn’t the most aesthetically pleasing, the experience isn’t often as nice as it ought to be. With dingy walls, old rugs and past-it bathroom furniture, the bathroom can be a room that a lot of people want to spend as least time as possible using.

All of this can change, though. If you’re dreaming of having a bathroom that promotes the finer things in life, there’s nothing like a complete overhaul of what currently exists and transforming it into the bathroom you’ve always wanted. That said, there are so many options for redecorating your bathroom that it’s difficult to know exactly what sort of style you can go for.

For example, you could go ultra modern and chic and enjoy some of the most contemporary designs in bathrooms. You could also make the most of upgrading your bath and shower to a power or steam shower – something you’ll never be able to go back from – as well as a new bath, many of which now include excellent extras like jet streams and the ability to turn into a mini Jacuzzi.

When you modernise your bathroom, it isn’t all about the furniture. Contemporary bathroom decoration includes the walls, floors and fittings too – from gorgeous mosaic tiles to fresh new linoleum to match, complete with well-picked bathroom rugs.

Of course, the centrepiece of the bathrooms is the bath. If you have the opportunity to change the main features, it can make sense to choose a luxury bath such as a traditional roll top bath or one of the popular modern whirlpool baths. Such baths add character to a bathroom and can enhance the other features within the room.

As much as there is to be said for modern fittings, some people are all about the traditional – which you can also find in droves if you’re on the search for a new bathroom. Traditional decorations are a fun way to mix the old with the new, with quaint old fashioned roll top baths that are thankfully fully connected to the waterworks being a top attraction.

Whatever type of bathrooms and accessories you like, it’s certain that a bathroom overhaul can make a massive difference to that oft-neglected room. With so much to choose from, you’re bound to find the bathroom you’ll love.
