Choosing a floral bath rug for a room is similar to choosing a piece of art. As in a painting, the colors in the rug do not need to match the room per say. They simply must compliment the tones already established in the room in a way that creates the desired effect. For instance, if the designer of a room wanted it to portray a warm, rustic feel, they would search for a rug with deep earth tones (browns, yellows) or jewel tones (reds, greens) in order to draw attention to those or similar colors that are already in the room.

Another important aspect of rug shopping is finding a pattern that brings out your style. The pattern can greatly alter the feel of the room, and has as much to do with styling a room as the colors themselves. For example, placing a rich burgundy and cream oriental rug in a dining room would create an elegant, warm, relaxed feel, but placing a rug with the same colors but a polka-dot pattern would create more of a retro vibe. Each pattern has its place, and it is important to determine where that is before buying your rug!

Of course, when it comes down to it, finding the perfect rug has to do with taste. Each rug portrays a different atmosphere, as would a painting or piece of furniture, and it must be carefully chosen to accompany an already stunning room.
